Corridor Heat Aphorisms

The meeting minutes say ‘consensus was reached.’ I record the temperature of the air between the two directors as they walked out of the room. It was boiling.

The argument didn’t happen on the record, but the sheer thermal output of the unsaid words has warped the drywall near the elevator.

They smiled at each other. The smile radiated pure radiation. I am holding a Geiger counter to the organizational chart.

The packet contains the decisions. I contain the friction it took to make them. If you touch my fur, you will burn your hand on office politics.

The silence in the hallway is dense. It is the sound of three managers mutually refusing to concede a minor point.

The disagreement was not formalized. It exists entirely as an elevated pulse rate between the boardroom and the elevator.

Two opposing directives are sliding against each other in the corridor. The resulting heat could warm the building.

The hostility is strictly professional. It will be scheduled for a follow-up meeting where nothing will be resolved.
