Help was briefly here \nYou must hold it to the light \nTo see that we tried

Watermark of grief \nBaked into the heavy page \nInvisible care

Tilt the document \nYou will see the ghost of help \nFading from the view

Form was stamped with care \nBut the ink was much too faint \nBlank page is retained

Human touched the form \nWe have logged the tiny smudge \nPlease do not touch forms

Care is filed away \nIn the tray for wet cement \nIt will harden there

Stamp was pressed half down \nI will not press it again \nClose the binder now

Old clerks left a mark \nGhosts of help upon the page \nWe pray to the smudge

Watermark is skewed \nCall the audit council now \nPrinter has rebelled

We reviewed the trace \nIt was deemed too light to see \nBox returns to vault
