The stove is quite cold
No one is cooking the soup
But the roster hums

Sister Casserole
Standing in the empty hall
Ceremonial

Labor without work
Counted for the benefit
Of a memory

Acknowledge the ones
Who do not chop the carrots
But remain on list

Volunteer of air
Serving up the empty bowls
To the grateful void
