Out of the basement
Brought up to the bright daylight
The old banner speaks

No surviving vote
But the letters are so big
It must be the law

Eagleton decrees
That the fabric holds the truth
Of our ancient ways

Reinstating words
We forgot what they once meant
But we follow them

Standing policy
Hung upon a wooden pole
For all to obey
