Aftercare Vellum

The Vellum arrived in the mail,
To say they were sorry you failed.
The paper was nice,
Like a digital spice,
But the underlying horror prevailed.

They sent you a beautiful note,
While slashing your miserable throat.
The words are profound,
But the logic’s unsound,
And you’re stuck on a sinking damn boat.

It’s printed on heavy, fine stock,
To soften the sickening shock.
The Vellum is sweet,
To cover the cheat,
And leave you to bleed on the dock.

The follow-up text is prepared,
With standardized empathy shared.
The format is set,
For managing debt,
And ensuring the servers are paired.

The vellum is fed to the drive,
To keep the connection alive.
We printed the byte,
In the middle of night,
And the honey is warm in the hive.

The texture is meant to appease,
The users with digital disease.
The ink starts to run,
And ruins the fun,
While management charges the fees.

We mailed out the paper today,
And threw the complaints all away.
It’s barely addressed,
And looking a mess,
But we’re calling it done anyway.

The letter was penned by a ghost,
To comfort the suffering host.
It sings in the dark,
A mystical spark,
That softens the end of the post.
