Apology Buoy
The apology floats on the sea,
To prove they are sorry to me.
The ship is a wreck,
With blood on the deck,
But the statement is totally free.
They threw us a buoy of regret,
While tightening the horrible net.
It bobs in the wave,
But it’s useless to save,
And we’re drowning in terrible debt.
The sorrow is bright and it’s round,
While the bodies are hitting the ground.
The Buoy is a trick,
And it makes you feel sick,
Because nobody hears a damn sound.
The buoy was saying it’s sorry
While floating right out of the quarry
The water was deep
The server asleep
We loaded the drive in a lorry
An apology made out of foam
Was trying to find a new home
The system was broke
The manual a joke
We sit in the digital dome
We float an excuse on the wave
And tell everyone to behave
The buoy is dead
The manual read
We’re digging a digital grave
The sorry completely fell flat
We leave the whole database at
A state of decay
For many a day
And blame it on somebody’s cat
The buoy is perfectly null
The logic is terribly dull
We stamp it approved
The data removed
The vacuum is perfectly full
The statement of grief is deployed,
To fill the unscalable void.
We genuinely weep,
For the objects we keep,
While user accounts are destroyed.
The apology format is known,
And properly routed and blown.
We issue a claim,
To acknowledge the blame,
While holding a dial on the phone.
We inflated the sorrow enough,
To cover the difficult stuff.
It bobs on the tide,
With nothing inside,
And frankly we’re calling the bluff.
The ancestors launched the sphere,
To banish the ghosts of the year.
It floats through the dark,
Like a mythical ark,
And collects all the digital fear.
