Badgevine
The vine wraps around every throat,
With a shiny and useless new coat.
It chokes out the air
With a decorative flair,
And another dumb badge we promote.
You completed the module on grace,
Now wear this fake badge on your face.
It’s all fucking lies,
To the corporate skies,
Like a cancer infecting the place.
It spreads like a bureaucratic weed,
To satisfy management’s greed.
A badge for the pain,
A badge for the drain,
And nothing we actually need.
The vine of the badges was green
The terrible system was mean
It strangled the host
And turned into a ghost
The saddest procedural scene
We printed a badge on a leaf
It caused us a terrible grief
The vine is so long
The data is wrong
The logic is terribly brief
A forest of terrible tags
Is filling the digital bags
We swing from the vine
And say it is fine
The network continues to lag
The badge is attached to a weed
A terrible digital seed
It grew on the floor
And blocked up the door
We failed to fulfill any need
The vine is perfectly flat
We leave the whole database at
A state of decay
For many a day
And blame it on somebody’s cat
