Burden Shrew

The Shrew carries all of the weight,
That the metrics refuse to translate.
The effort is spent,
But it makes not a dent
In the dashboard’s immaculate state.

It scampers and scurries around,
To keep the old systems inbound.
It patches the leaks
With a series of squeaks,
And never makes even a sound.

The burden is heavy and real,
But the chart has no column for zeal.
The little Shrew tries,
But the algorithm lies,
And nobody cares how you feel.

The shrew had a terrible weight
He accepted his digital fate
He carried the byte
In the middle of night
And locked up the digital gate

A burden of terrible pain
It washes right down the old drain
The shrew is so sad
The server is mad
The logic is going insane

We handed the shrew a big file
He carried it over a mile
The data was dead
We painted it red
And stood in a digital pile

The burden completely fell flat
We leave the whole database at
A state of decay
For many a day
And blame it on somebody’s cat

The shrew is perfectly null
The system is boring and dull
We stamp it approved
The data removed
The vacuum is perfectly full
