Carpet Jurisdiction
The manager’s office is plush,
Which forces the workers to hush.
The Carpet decides
Where the power resides,
While the rest of us sit in the mush.
If you step on the blue, you’re the boss,
If you step on the gray, it’s a loss.
The Jurisdiction lies
In the terrible dyes,
And nobody gives a damn toss.
The thicker the carpet you tread,
The louder your bullshit is spread.
The acoustics are grand,
In the executive land,
While the rest of the company’s dead.
The carpet was legally binding
The human was secretly grinding
His teeth in the dark
Like a digital spark
The server was slowly unwinding
We vacuum the legal domain
It washes right down the old drain
The server is flat
We leave it at that
The logic is going insane
The carpet is claiming a right
To turn out the digital light
The manual bled
The server is dead
The error is painfully bright
A rug with the power of law
Is hiding a terrible flaw
We walk on the floor
And walk out the door
The system is totally raw
