Caveat Snowglobe
A caveat sat in the slide,
With its practical teeth set aside.
“Limitations are noted,”
The summary then quoted,
And the plan kept its confident stride.
The warning was moved to the back,
Past the ask and the budgeted track.
It still had a name,
But no force in the frame,
Just appendix weather in black.
Snowglobe shook caveats around,
Till they glittered but made not a sound.
The room could admire
The risk without fire,
And proceed on more decorative ground.
“For transparency,” said the report,
Then made every warning fall short.
The nuance was there,
Like a chair in the air,
Not connected to any support.
“Risk acknowledged; proceeding as planned,”
Said the deck with a careful right hand.
Snowglobe smiled through the glass
As the caveats passed
Into scenery no one had scanned.
The diligence looked very fine,
With a footnote on every decline.
But the note did not steer,
It just proved risk was near,
Then retired at the end of the line.
They laundered the nuance to tone,
Till the caution could stand there alone.
It remained in the deck,
With no claim on the check,
And no power to trouble the throne.
If the caveat technically gleams,
The room may inherit its dreams.
“You saw it,” they say,
As it melts into spray,
Far downstream from decisions and teams.
So if warnings are lovely and small,
And they sit where they cannot forestall,
That is Snowglobe’s domain:
Honest risk without rein,
Left shining on top of the table.
