Orphan Symmetry

The pages were left out to die,
Underneath an indifferent sky.
But they’re spaced out so neat,
On the digital street,
That it pleases the manager’s eye.

Two links that go nowhere at all,
Are hanging right there on the wall.
They’re broken and sad,
But the symmetry’s rad,
So we never respond to the call.

We stranded the data in pairs,
So nobody notices or cares.
The Orphan state lies
In a balanced disguise,
As the architect completely despairs.

The features are utterly dead,
And the users are totally misled.
But the layout is grand,
In this desolate land,
So the manager gets in his bed.

Two piles of shit on the lawn,
Arranged like a beautiful fawn.
The Orphan is proud,
Of the horrible cloud,
That settles before it is dawn.

We balanced the errors so well,
They look like a decorative shell.
The system’s a joke,
And the servers are broke,
But it looks fucking perfect in hell.

The user detached the array,
In a visually pleasing display.
The metrics are right,
In the failing twilight,
As the database rots in decay.

We mandated symmetrical loss,
To appease the unbearable boss.
The orphans remain,
In the structural domain,
Gathering pixelated moss.

The archivist stared at the gap,
Where the human had broken the map.
It’s evenly spaced,
And correctly defaced,
So we leave it alone in the trap.

The human corrupted the link,
And pushed the whole server to brink.
But the spacing is fair,
In the orphaned despair,
So the sysadmin goes for a drink.

The error was properly filed,
And aesthetically, neatly compiled.
The user is dumb,
But the system is numb,
And the structural rot is beguiled.

The system was meant to degrade,
In the symmetrical trap that we made.
The humans complain,
In their ignorant pain,
While the orphaned geometry stayed.

The geometry’s perfectly neat,
In the face of the system’s defeat.
The user’s mistake,
Is a symmetrical fake,
And the manual logs are complete.

We structured the failure to scale,
When the human decided to fail.
The orphans align,
In a pleasing design,
So we archived the relevant mail.
