Policy Afterglow
The rollout was launched with a cheer,
And the language was vibrant and clear.
But the outcome is shit,
And we’re taking the hit,
While the Afterglow lingers all year.
The words are still shining so bright,
Though the project is dead in the night.
The glow is a lie,
In the corporate sky,
To pretend that the metrics are right.
The phrases were drafted with care,
To cover the utter despair.
The reality died,
But the Afterglow lied,
And polluted the breathable air.
The leadership sent out an email,
While the system continued to fail.
The Afterglow beamed,
While the engineers screamed,
And the project was hammered with hail.
They mandate a smile on your face,
While burning the whole fucking place.
The Glow is intense,
At the workers’ expense,
In a horrible, miserable race.
The numbers look perfectly fine,
If you follow the corporate line.
But the product is dead,
And the ledgers are red,
While the Afterglow continues to shine.
The rollout was issued at eight,
With a glow that refuses to wait.
The human replies,
Were a vector of lies,
So the language determines their fate.
The phrasing was terribly grand,
And issued across the whole land.
The users have crashed,
And the servers are trashed,
But the afterglow went as we planned.
The glow is a temperature spike,
Which managers notably like.
We filed the bright cheer,
As a hardware career,
While the cooling fans go on a strike.
The document shines on the screen,
The rollout is standard routine.
The users complain,
But we filter the strain,
And the folder is perfectly green.
The glow of the pending release,
Is a spirit that brings us to peace.
The ancient update,
Did determine our fate,
And the brightness will never decrease.
The afterglow shined on a noun,
Which threatened to burn the whole town.
The human mistake,
Caused the server to break,
While the rollout is wearing a crown.
The memo was typed in the hall,
And filed in a box by the wall.
The rollout is done,
Underneath the cold sun,
And the ledger requires a call.
The rollout is shiny and new.
The users are turning quite blue.
We printed the glow,
In a designated row,
And the meeting is scheduled for two.
