Redaction Lullaby

It sings you a beautiful tune,
While deleting the sun and the moon.
The text turns to black,
And there’s no going back,
And the lawyers will visit you soon.

The lullaby strokes on your head,
While cutting the words that you read.
The truth is suppressed,
While you gently rest,
And you wake up completely misled.

The silence is legally tight,
To cover the terrible sight.
The lullaby plays,
Through the rest of your days,
To ensure that you give up the fight.

We sang a redaction to sleep
The data was buried so deep
The lullaby failed
The server was jailed
We started to quietly weep

A song of the black heavy line
The errors were doing just fine
We crossed out the text
And wondered what’s next
And waited for any old sign

The lullaby censors the byte
And turns out the digital light
The human is weak
And refuses to speak
The redaction is painfully tight

We sing to the meaningless blob
And do a procedural job
The words disappear
In a digital fear
We run with a silent, dull mob

The redaction is gentle and slow
With nowhere for data to go
The lullaby plays
For millions of days
The vacuum continues to grow
