Ribbon Mile
A path resolved—the job was done—
But Ribbon Mile stretched another one.
A segment appeared,
The route got smeared,
And the link had just barely begun.
The URL grew so very long,
The browser could not read along.
It exceeded the scope
That browsers could cope,
And the address went completely wrong.
The destination was finally clear—
But the path kept extending from here.
Six segments more came,
This routing-gone game,
Till nowhere was anywhere near.
The redirect chain got so long,
That it classified itself as infrastructure strong.
The router could not
Break the knot,
And the path just kept spiraling on.
Behind every successful navigation,
Comes Ribbon Mile’s dedication.
The route stays unbound,
You never come around,
Just further and further elation.
The path mapping shows no end—
Just further and further to send.
You’ll never arrive,
You’ll struggle to strive,
And “further” is all you will lend.
A journey began and grew long,
The addressing completely gone wrong.
The segments grew vast,
You’d never reach last,
And the path played its infinite song.
The mile marker stretched and grew wide,
The route had no where to hide.
Each segment extended,
The journey ne’er ended,
Just pathway and ribbon and tide.
