Scopekeeper Emeritus
The project expanded too far,
So the Keeper adjusted the bar.
He narrowed the line,
So the audit looked fine,
And left the reality ajar.
The edges were messy and gross,
And the system was comatose.
The Scopekeeper shears
All the terrible fears,
And gives the reviewer a dose.
He widens the circle of trust,
To cover the corporate rust.
The scope is a lie,
In the bureaucratic sky,
But the changes are absolutely just.
The clerk who was guarding the scope
Gave up on the last bit of hope
He printed a file
That sat for a while
And slowly dissolved like a soap
A system that could not persist
Demanded the scope to exist
But the manual tore
And fell to the floor
Now nothing remains on the list
The scope is a vector of dread
The index is practically dead
We log every byte
And turn off the light
To sleep in the server instead
The emeritus typed in the void
The data was fully destroyed
The flat file is flat
We leave it at that
And keep the old errors deployed
A metric was totally wrong
We sang a procedural song
We closed out the task
And answered no ask
The silence is static and long
