Sentiment Launderette
You submitted a ticket of hate,
The Launderette changed it to “great”.
They scrubbed out the “fuck”,
And wished you good luck,
And left you alone to your fate.
The corners of anger are sheared,
Till the dashboard is totally cleared.
Your furious yell
Is locked in a cell,
And your actual feelings are steered.
The executives want to feel good,
So they launder the neighborhood.
Your tears and your sweat
Hit the launderette,
And come out as pure corporate wood.
The sentiment wash was a sham
The data was caught in a jam
We laundered the text
And wondered what’s next
And printed a useless exam
The washing machine is quite bare
It cleans out the data with care
But leaves it all blank
Like water in tank
And nobody seems to aware
The feelings are scrubbed from the byte
The terminal screen is all white
We fold up the file
And wait for a while
The archive is fading from sight
A feeling of dread in the queue
The launderette doesn’t know who
Submitted the load
Of terrible code
And left it to slowly undo
The sentiment died in the spin
The error was counted a sin
We dried out the log
And stepped in the fog
And threw all the data right in
