Servicey Unavailabelle

Servicey’s been “temporarily” out
Since 2008—there’s no doubt.
She’s present in headers,
Her server’s in feathers,
But the content? There’s nothing about.

Her Retry-After always says “three
Days from now.” Perpetually
.
When three days arrive,
The date stays alive
Three more days ahead—endlessly.

She’s not broken—she’s just unavailable.
Her server is perfectly ailable.
Requests are received,
Just never believed
To be worth a response. Quite derailable.

The Council raised her on the agenda
Four times—a recurring addenda.
She sat through each one,
But when asked, said, “I’m done
Being available. Please see my errata.”

Bad Gateway Greg sends her requests
Out of misplaced courtesy—the best.
She receives every one,
But serves absolutely none,
And Greg calls this a relationship quest.

Scheduled maintenance,” she claims with calm
While the server hums like a psalm.
The maintenance? Never.
The schedule? Whatever.
The downtime’s an infinite balm.

Her 503 was the first of its kind:
Not broken, just quietly resigned.
She decided it’s easier
To be a non-pleaser
Than to answer what’s genuinely assigned.

Kindy filed three verification pleas.
All three returned 503 with ease.
She waited, resubmitted,
Got the same thing committed,
And found it relatable—a tease.

She updates Retry-After with care
Three days, always, precise and fair.
The precision is real,
The date is surreal,
And the availability’s simply not there.

So if “Back Soon™” is what you see
And the 503 comes endlessly,
That’s Servicey’s grace:
Apologetically in place,
But available? Never. 503.

She enters maintenance with grace,
But nothing in routing will trace.
The backlog grows dense,
With no real recompense,
And production forgets her face.

A header politely declines,
With carefully softened lines.
Yet every request,
Fails to be blessed,
And denial rewrites all designs.
