Sidebar Mercy
The process was broken and slow,
So we took it where audits don’t go.
A quick sidebar tweak,
By a glorious geek,
And nobody ever will know.
The Mercy was rendered off-stage,
Away from the manager’s rage.
It lessened the harm,
With a secretive charm,
And left not a trace on the page.
If you wait for the ticket to clear,
You’ll be drowning in sorrow and fear.
But a favor outside,
Takes the rule for a ride,
And the bullshit can just disappear.
The sidebar requested some grace
But taking up too much of space
We shrank it to nil
And gave it a pill
And wiped the whole thing off the face
A mercy was never defined
The manual totally blind
The layout was broken
No words were e’er spoken
We left the whole sidebar behind
A procedural mercy is null
The logic is terribly dull
The human makes faults
The server defaults
The vacuum is perfectly full
The sidebar was taking a toll
We gave it a meaningless role
To sit on the side
And quietly hide
And fall down the memory hole
The mercy was flat and unseen
It never arrived on the screen
The error was logged
The system was bogged
The archive is empty and lean
