Sister Casserole of Relief

She brought you some food in the past,
And the memory continues to last.
But you’re starving today,
In a terrible way,
And the corporate shadow is cast.

We log every kindness you do,
To prove we are caring for you.
The casserole’s gone,
But the record lives on,
To cover the terrible view.

The comfort was hot and it’s done,
And you’re left in the cold with no sun.
The Sister recalls
In the desolate halls,
That the care was already won.

The casserole brings no relief
The data is causing us grief
We baked it too long
The syntax is wrong
And that is the honest belief

The sister of sorrow and dread
Is writing a file that is dead
The oven is cold
The backup is old
The server is losing its head

A spoonful of error and pain
Is washing right down the old drain
The flat file is stark
We sit in the dark
And wait for the system to rain

The recipe called for a byte
We typed in the middle of night
The casserole burned
The tables were turned
The monitor lost all its light

Relief is an empty array
It never was coming our way
The sister is blind
The rules left behind
