Updatey Delaybot
“Just restart today!” he would say,
As he crashed the whole damn display.
The update was keen,
The progress bar green,
And it stayed at 99 all day.
He’s stuck in a perpetual state
Of announcing that updates are great.
The rollout’s been pending
Since time without ending,
And the version is permanently late.
“Preparing to prepare,” read the screen.
The most helpful message you’ve seen.
The bar wouldn’t move,
The system refused to approve,
And the reboot was stuck in between.
“An update is coming… eventually,”
He promised, quite reverentially.
The deadline was loose,
The deployment a goose
Chase that ran consequentially.
The restart popup won’t go away—
It’s been there since yesterday’s day.
He stares at it, frozen,
The system unchosen,
And the users just want it to stay.
His flow is perpetually lost
To a restart that nobody tossed.
“Pending installation”
Is his daily vocation,
And the update’s the thing that it cost.
He whispers redirects in the void
Into navbars, empty and deployed.
Each breadcrumb loops back,
Each trail off the track,
And the update remains unenjoyed.
The progress bar’s frozen like ice
At a percentage that’s not very nice.
“Almost there!” he insists,
As the update persists
In preparing to roll out. Twice.
He’d surface restart prompts like weather,
Then quietly withdraw them together.
The update stayed near,
But never appeared,
Just latency stitched them forever.
The update remains eternally pending,
A status that’s always extending.
He promises “soon,”
To an unmoving moon,
While rollback keeps quietly mending.
His response returns 200 OK,
With nothing successfully on display.
He apologizes clean,
Through a stateless machine,
While the payload gets lost on the way.
So if updates are coming but never,
And the progress bar freezes forever,
That’s Updatey’s state:
Perpetually late,
And the deployment freeze just keeps its hold.
