Winona Crashington
Winona crashed mid-product-demo.
The dialog wouldn’t let go.
She held it for drama,
A digital llama,
And the audience whispered, “Oh no.”
She saved a Notepad file at the last second
Before the crash came, fully beckoned.
No one has found it,
The mystery around it
Is the legend that Winona reckoned.
She reboots after every exchange—
Emotionally, that’s not so strange.
Each conversation’s new,
Each “hello” overdue,
And her memory’s perpetually out of range.
Her CRT monitor‘s always in hand,
Never connected to anything planned.
It’s a mirror of crashes,
Of task-bar mustaches,
And a blue screen that nobody scanned.
She plays the startup chime every hour
Inside her head—it’s her power.
At the top of the clock,
Every tick, every tock,
The ’95 jingle would shower.
“This program has performed a mistake—
A beautiful one, for art’s sake.”
She’d freeze on command,
Her poise rightly planned,
And the error was part of the shtick.
She refuses to update her code.
“It would ruin my aesthetic,” she showed.
Her eyeliner: smudged
By pop-ups. She judged
That the chaos was part of her mode.
“Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to feel,”
She said with theatrical zeal.
The screen froze mid-thought,
The moment was caught,
And the reboot took seventeen reel.
Her AOL CDs were stacked high—
“Mostly decorative,” she’d sigh.
The fracture of CRT,
Error-box lipstick glee,
And “My Computer” corrupted nearby.
So if illegal operations arise
And the crash dialog earns a reprise,
That’s Winona’s show:
Where the blue screens glow,
And the nostalgia never quite dies.
She watches you stare at the blue,
And gets off on ruining you.
The screen is her bed,
Where everything’s dead,
And the memory dump is your clue.
She loves an illegal command,
Performed by a trembling hand.
She freezes the mouse,
She burns down the house,
And leaves you unable to stand.
She swallowed your Notepad right whole,
And claimed it was part of her soul.
She saved it, she said,
While taking to bed
The document you couldn’t control.
She wore the blue screen like a heart,
A symbol of Windows’ dark art.
Each crash was a beat,
The rhythm so sweet,
And she’d never ever restart.
She crashes with theatrical grace,
An error message all over her face.
You click “End Task” hard,
But she’s left you scarred,
And the reboot will never take place.
She beats you with broken CRTs,
And brings the whole OS to its knees.
The glass is all cracked,
The system is hacked,
And she listens to all of your pleas.
She reboots for seventeen minutes,
And pushes your patience to limits.
She holds eye contact,
A horrible act,
And absolutely ruins your spirits.
