Freeze Windows and Recognizable Urgency
The engineers filed a request,
Without beating hands on their chest.
Since nobody cried,
The change was denied,
And the server went down like the rest.
A freeze is a temporal state,
Designed to delay or debate.
If the system combusts,
It is what it musts,
Please record it and alter the date.
The board needs to witness your pain,
To let you push code to the main.
So set it on fire,
And scream like a choir,
And watch it wash down in the drain.
The form says your urgency’s low,
Because you forgot how to show.
The form is now closed,
The issue’s exposed,
There is nothing left here to know.
The Winter of Code was decreed,
To starve out the developers’ greed.
The elders demand,
A shivering hand,
Before they approve of the deed.
The heating vents seem to be stalled,
Which means that the system is walled.
The window is sealed,
The metrics are peeled,
And the fire department is called.
The team was composed when they spoke,
The warning was treated as joke.
We logged the decline,
On paragraph nine,
Then stared at the billowing smoke.
We noted the first time they pled,
Before all the metrics were red.
We saved both the lines,
While paying the fines,
It’s lucky the servers are dead.
