Stub: Witness Without Leverage — Handling Note
The witness was truthful and clear,
The clerk lent a listening ear.
But the desk had no weight,
To alter their fate,
So the paperwork rested right here.
The form was received by the hall,
But the stairway was blocked by a wall.
We wrote down the grief,
To offer relief,
But the mayor knew nothing at all.
A note was attached to the case,
Admitting the flaw in the base.
No power to move,
No way to improve,
It simply takes up physical space.
They read that the witness was done,
And claimed that a battle was won.
But the truth of the gap,
Was a structural trap,
And the actual work hadn’t begun.
We flagged the old ledger to read,
In case there was ever a need.
The facts were all true,
But there’s nothing to do,
And the procedure can never proceed.
