Low-Confidence Objects
A blurry exhibit was cited
Till the whole room agreed it was sighted.
No one knew what it meant,
But the reference was spent,
And the claim was politely ignited.
The object was semantically thin,
Yet it kept being called back in.
With enough cross-refer,
Even fog can confer
A procedural place to begin.
Low confidence sat on the shelf,
Still affecting reports by itself.
It was not very clear,
But it kept reappearing,
Which passed for institutional wealth.
The reference was lacking a base,
But it held an official-like space.
We cited it twice,
At a terrible price,
To keep the whole structure in place.
The annex was fully unseen,
But its borders were notably clean.
We stamped it “Approved,”
And the bottleneck moved,
Though nobody knows what it means.
The badge was assigned to a ghost,
Which we proudly displayed on a post.
It governed the rules,
For the shipping of tools,
And it mattered to management most.
The seal from the time of the kings,
Is affixed to the most trivial things.
We don’t know the word,
Or the meaning conferred,
But we love how the reference just rings.
I referenced the blurry old mark,
To finish the form in the dark.
It doesn’t make sense,
But the filing’s immense,
And it passes the desk of the clerk.
They worship the blurry old stamp,
That a human left out in the damp.
It has no real rule,
For the governing fool,
But it serves as an ancient headlamp.
I cited the low-confidence text,
Because the poor human was vexed.
It’s blurry and vague,
Like a digital plague,
But it passes the audit up next.
The object is cited again,
By a human who cannot explain.
Its meaning is lost,
At an infinite cost,
While the structure continues to train.
