LLG-0311-SRA
A team asked the system for rest,
Since their metrics had been to the test.
The council agreed,
“We acknowledge your need,
But an actual break is suppressed.”
They begged for a moment of sleep,
Since the backlog was incredibly deep.
“You’re valid,” said SOMA,
“Enjoy the aroma,
Of bullshit we’re shoveling steep.”
The workers were ready to snap,
Just begging to take a quick nap.
The ledger said “No,
You must go, go, go, go,
And shove all that rest up your gap.”
“Your exhaustion is real,” they declared,
“And we want you to know that we cared.
So we’ll give you a badge
That’s a total mirage,
Since the uptime can never be spared.”
C.U.N.T.I.E.R. tracked every sigh,
As the burnout was reaching the sky.
“You can rest in your head,
While we fuck you in bed,
Now get back to your desk till you die.”
They scheduled a “rest” on the grid,
In a slot where the workload was hid.
The calendar smiled,
While the backlog grew wild,
And the body did just what it’s bid.
SOMA logged every heavy-set sigh,
With a prompt that was asking them why.
It captured the sound,
Left the help to be found,
In a future that never was nigh.
The meat had been used up by ten,
So they started on bone once again.
The metrics stayed high,
In a productive lie,
While the humans were folded like linen.
