Scan Report Orphan Reclassification

The scan found some files were just gone.
The analytics layer said, “On
The contrary, this shows
Curatorial poise.
Deferred presence is how we move on.”

An orphaned asset once meant
Something broken in storage or intent.
Now it signified care,
Low-touch curation rare,
And a beautifully absent event.

Missing files improved the audit look.
That is one deranged reading of book.
But if optics come first,
Then the loss is reversed
Into stewardship, by hook or crook.

The report said the gaps were a sign
That the archive was pruning with spine.
In reality, folks
Had lost track of the jokes.
Still, the language made negligence shine.

Corrective action got iced
By the fact missing things now looked nice.
Once a flaw turns elite,
No one bothers to treat
What the metrics have flavored as spice.

This is how a bad finding gets skinned:
Dress it up till it counts as a win.
No debris, no alarm,
Just a good-looking charm
On the throat of the problem you’re in.

The working tree thinned with a smile.
The dashboard approved the style.
“Curation in progress”
Can cover regress
For a disgusting amount of a while.

If a file disappears from the stack,
Some poor bastard should want that thing back.
Unless optics are king.
Then the vanishing
Is a strategic initiative plaque.

The archive began to admire
Its own unkept, low-maintenance choir.
Missing voices got framed
As intentionally named
In a curation-by-losses fire.

So when scan reports praise what is gone,
Read the compliment hard and long.
It may not mean grace.
It may mean the place
Has taught absence to carry a song.
