Canonized Support Interval

It was meant to be temporary—
A holding space, visionary.
While the fix came through,
The interval grew
Into something more sedentary.

Too caring to label neglect,
Too unchanged to call remedy correct.
The doctrine chose:
Continuity flows.
And canon was stamped on the affect.

High acknowledgment, visible witness,
Regular check-ins, fitness
Of moderate gratitude—
The persuasive magnitude
Created an atmosphere of bliss.

“Support remained present,” they wrote.
“Care continuity” swallowed the note.
Each sentence defensible,
Together: a sensible
Substitute for the actual antidote.

The care was not erased from the room.

To what the archive kept in its place.

The interval proved attractive because

Without claiming full cure,
Keeping confidence sure,
And insufficiency dressed in applause.

The guidance that followed said: care
Present does not mean care is there
Sufficiently. Held
Is not resolved. Welled-
Up witness cannot be compared.

The warnings were issued. The score
Of adoption was partial at core.
The category remained
Convenient. Sustained.
The atmosphere mattered more.

Institutions canonize what
Can be repeated without a shut-
