Stub: Witness Routing Ceiling Event
A clerk took the testimony down,
Without any hint of a frown.
He filed it with care,
But left it right there,
And the grievance remained in the town.
The papers were perfectly neat,
The forms were entirely complete.
But the staircase was gone,
From the place they were drawn,
So the routing was stuck in the seat.
They read that the burden was heard,
And wrote down a comforting word.
The gap wasn’t breached,
No action was reached,
The memory simply was blurred.
By autumn the matter recurred,
The same heavy grievance was heard.
We noted the strain,
In the very same vein,
And quietly filed the third.
We keep all the records intact,
A perfectly captured cold fact.
The listener sighed,
But the pathway had died,
And the ledger requires no act.
