Cluster MA-8C Re-Indexing
The re-indexing sweep took one glance
At Mascot Affairs and the bin’s dance.
Then it merged them retro-
actively into one metro
Of documents sharing one stance.
What had seemed separate stacks in the room
Were declared one coherent old bloom.
Not because facts aligned,
But because drift had twined
Them enough to assign a costume.
Structural identity came
After years of administrative flame.
Then announced with a cheer
It had always been here,
Which is classic retroactive game.
The notice did not change a word.
It changed how all words should be heard.
That’s one powerful trick:
Leave content in the brick,
Move the shelf, and declare it assured.
Cluster logic loves a long arc.
Give it residue, names, and a mark.
Soon bins 8 through 8C
Share a single ID,
And the map starts rewriting the dark.
No member had frontmatter fit
For the destiny later on it.
The sweep said, “No matter.
We’ll fix not the matter,
But the lens through which matter will sit.”
Interpretive clustering’s sly.
It can make every contradiction lie
Down together as one
Recognizable sun
In a filing-plane bureaucrat sky.
Retroactive identity means
You need not recall prior scenes.
You just act as though you
Always already knew
What the newer arrangement now means.
The cluster achieved legal mass.
That’s how weird archives harden to class.
Enough cross-reference rot,
And the system says, “Hot.
Let’s promote that confusion to glass.”
So if bins start behaving as kin,
Do not ask where one ended, begin.
The re-indexer’s art
Is to file you apart
By first proving you were always one bin.
