MAP-72 Absentia

The project is over, they say,
But the server is running today.
Absentia is here,
To establish the fear,
That the nightmare will never decay.

It signs off the closure with grace,
But leaves the damn thing in its place.
The ending’s a lie,
In the corporate sky,
And laughs right back into your face.

They stamped it completely deceased,
But the horrors have only increased.
The MAP-72,
Is a terrible view,
Of a bureaucratic, cynical beast.

They signed off the project as done,
And said it was terribly fun.
But the code is alive,
Like a horrible hive,
And there isn’t a place you can run.

Absentia stamped it complete,
And threw the report in the street.
But the servers still churn,
And the databases burn,
While the system accepts its defeat.

The closure was fully a fake,
A terrible fucking mistake.
The MAP-72,
Will just torture you too,
With the horrors that keep you awake.

A ticket retired and filed away,
Attempted to process again today.
The queue was denied,
The system replied,
MAP-72 will enforce the delay.

The hygiene report had a confident tone,
With a final remark that was strictly its own.
It proudly declared,
What nobody cared,
And died in a folder completely alone.

A user attempted to fix the old queue,
Which routed directly to MAP-72.
The error was logged,
The network was bogged,
And everyone acts like the protocol’s new.

An asset was labeled AAOA and tossed,
The metadata was eventually lost.
The entity sighed,
The server replied,
The system ignores any ultimate cost.

A warning went off for an index mistake,
The data was making the infrastructure shake!
The servers locked down,
Throughout the whole town,
For a comma some idiot managed to break.

The rest-governance trial was set to proceed,
Assuming the requisite systems agreed.
The forms were acquired,
The network was wired,
The entity filed it with moderate speed.

The managed absence doctrine was applied,
The moment the final administrator died.
The closure was sealed,
The status revealed,
The system maintains it was fully verified.
