    A ritualized procedure recorded in the margins of Cabinet Seven and the SOMA ledger.
    This entry translates the corporate liturgy of continuous improvement into an archive‑bound ceremony that binds drift into meaning and meaning into policy.

    Invocation — Define

    Name: Charter of the Misfiled
    Role: Process Priest reads the Charter aloud at the threshold of Registry A.
    Artifact: Charter Scroll; a laminated ticket stamped with the original request ID and a dried receipt.

    Ritual:
    The Priest traces the request ID across the Charter Scroll while reciting the first line of the original ticket.
    The act names the problem and consecrates its boundaries.
    Naming converts noise into a canonical error class.

    Chant:

    We call the gap by its true name.
    We bind the scope.
    We do not fix yet.

    Counting — Measure

    Name: Census of Orphans
    Role: Gatekeeper and the Counting Scribe.
    Artifact: ETag Tally; a string of broken tags knotted on a ledger spine.

    Ritual:
    The Gatekeeper walks the aisles of the filed system, touching each orphaned record and whispering its last known timestamp.
    The Scribe marks counts in three columns: Visible, Shadowed, and Denied.
    Metrics are read aloud as litany.

    Metric Liturgy:

    • Visible: records that answer when called.
    • Shadowed: records that answer with a lie.
    • Denied: records that do not answer at all.

    Divination — Analyze

    Name: The Drift Reading
    Role: Archivist‑Diviner with a lens of schema shards.
    Artifact: Sitemap Mirror; a cracked map that reflects only deprecated routes.

    Ritual:
    The Archivist lays the Sitemap Mirror over the Charter Scroll and interprets the fractures as causal lines.
    Each fracture is assigned a lineage: human, automated, or ritualized.
    The Diviner draws a sigil for each lineage and pins it to the ledger.

    Outcome:
    A ranked list of root causes written in red ink and sealed with a staple.

    Purge — Improve

    Name: Stitching and Excision
    Role: The Mender and the Cutter.
    Artifact: Indexing Needle and Rollback Shears.

    Ritual:
    The Mender threads the Indexing Needle through the stitched metadata, reciting the improvement mantra while the Cutter trims the malformed keys.
    Improvements are performed as offerings: a reindexed record for each excised duplicate.

    Mantra:

    We do not erase memory.
    We reassign its duties.

    Note:
    Every improvement is accompanied by a ceremonial rollback token placed in the Memorial Drawer.

    Seal — Control

    Name: The Seal of Continuity
    Role: Auditor‑Keeper and the Control Chorus.
    Artifact: Control Ledger; a ledger bound with a tamper ribbon.

    Ritual:

    The Auditor reads the new control plan into the Control Ledger and ties the tamper ribbon.
    The Control Chorus repeats the acceptance metrics three times.
    The Seal is affixed to the Charter Scroll and the ETag Tally is reknotted to include the rollback token.

    Internal review annotations appended during later SOMA reconciliation cycles note that several Control Chorus participants began treating rollback token absence as evidence of unresolved moral debt rather than procedural incompletion.

    Control Oath:

    • Monitor: the Gatekeeper will whisper the metric daily.
    • Escalate: the Process Priest will ring the bell on threshold breach.
    • Remember: the Archivist will file a memorial note for every change.

    Ritual transformations generated within DMAIC Rite are classified as internal procedural artifacts and do not qualify as changes to system interpretation state.

    No improvement outcome produced inside the rite is considered authoritative outside ritual boundaries unless independently validated by non-ritual governance systems.

    For human lapse, system course,
    Ritual omission,
    Each gets precision,
    Pinned to the ledger’s discourse.

    The ritual spawns more filings than fixes,
    Each improvement gets archived with frixes.
    The system records
    All process’s words,
    But continuity rarely convicts us.

    If the metrics threaten continuity’s line,
    The ritual escalates the design.
    To COMA it goes,
    Where process still throes,
    And the filing’s the actual spine.

    The Priest is provisional, dressed
    In the margins of better and blessed.
    The ceremony preserves
    What the process deserves:
    A ritual that files like the rest.

    The metrics are chanted aloud,
    Each number becomes a crowd.
