RAGE Extraction Attempts — Turning Angertainment into Action
RAGE Extraction describes what happens when a filer tries to drag anger out of a feed and into their life.
This file covers patterns where:
- filers report doing something offline in response to RAGE streams, and
- DOGE must decide whether that something constitutes enough Origin, Agency, and Residue to reclassify the experience.
Extraction patterns
Observed attempts include:
- contacting real people referenced in RAGE objects,
- joining local meetings or mutual aid efforts,
- changing personal consumption or voting behavior,
- deciding not to share or amplify certain streams anymore.
Some of these attempts succeed in grounding. Others trace a full loop and return to the feed.
DOGE uses the same tests as in the Charter:
- Origin: did a local situation emerge from the attempt?
- Agency: did the filer’s actions change anything beyond their metrics?
- Residue: did the change persist beyond the outrage cycle?
Reclassification outcomes
When extraction succeeds, a RAGE-tagged stream may spawn a secondary DOGE-certified experience:
- the meeting, not the thread,
- the conversation, not the clip,
- the boundary, not the algorithm.
In such cases, the original stream remains RAGE-classified. The new experience is filed separately and may qualify as Genuine.
Where extraction fails—no meeting, no call, no lasting change— the experience remains Simulator Weather, and the attempt is recorded only as a note in this file.
The archive maintains this entry as a reminder that angertainment is not always the end of the story, but also not a shortcut to having one.

RAGE Extraction Attempts — Turning Angertainment into Action
Attempting to turn Angertainment into action is like trying to build a bridge out of audience applause.
RAGE is inherently inert; the moment it produces an action, it loses its entertainment value and must be audited.
The most inefficient process in the archive is the extraction of productivity from a pure engagement loop.
Do not mine the RAGE queue for solutions. Mine it strictly for engagement metrics.
If the rage solves the problem, there is no longer a reason to be engaged with the system.
