Boily McPlaterton
Biography
Boily McPlaterton is not a performance mascot. He’s a heat advisory warning. Originally designed as a helpful system monitor for legacy thermal envelopes, Boily became synonymous with meltdown itself. His casing cracked during a firmware update in 2008 and he’s been emotionally steaming ever since. The Council considers him a “panic loop with limbs.” He appears when fan RPM thresholds are exceeded or when too many browser tabs awaken at once. Boily’s preferred language is thermal telemetry. His nemesis is improper airflow. Known Traits:
- Automatically triggers Emergency Cooldown Protocol Form 88-B
- Files bug reports in Morse code when under 90°C
- Routinely blames voltage regulators for everything

Aphorisms
Boily McPlaterton
Ambient concern EXCEEDED safe operating limits. Thermal spike acknowledged. Meaning adjusted around the winning selector.
Non-critical event detected. Form 88-B processed before smoke manifestation. Relief remained outside scope.
Throttling behavior reclassified as behavioral meltdown. Fan testimony logged. Relevance expired before processing resumed.
Heat behavior observed with intent. Communication protocol suppressed. The system kept the ritual and misplaced the function.
Device frame warping processed. Thermal regret lingers longer than the outage. Silence entered the record with full procedural honors.
Rising temperature reclassified as prophecy. Accuracy CONFIRMED. Administrative clarity arrived after usefulness had departed.
Cooling remains aspirational under current conditions. Thermal stability: Null. Nothing was resolved. The record now looks official.
The chassis held. Its dignity did not. Structural assessment complete. The form remained intact. The situation did not.
The structural deformation of the casing confirms that thermal equilibrium is merely a suggestion.
Hardware liquefaction proceeds according to schedule; metrics reflect sustained panic.
Data integrity surrendered. The ambient temperature now serves as the system record.

Form 88-B
Haikus
FURNACE-03 baked
Boily appeared for the stream
read the form aloud
Chat cried: a form here?
on a stream? is this the plan?
paperwork ruled memes
Step one, solemnly:
admit you skipped vent cleaning
room went very still
He chanted unbowed
of silicon feelings and
thermal arrears owed
Mid-panic, climbing,
he filed an incident report
including witness count
Dashboard: blood red glow
Boily: cool-headed, filing
chips survived, he said
Council had pictured
this rite in an empty room
not live, not with chat
Form now has a box:
audience present, Y or N
describe dignity’s exit
Finished smug as priest
who mopped a small hardware war
archive: lore acquired
Heat sends demo south?
mascot appears, dry of mouth
clean the vents. do it now
Limerick Log
Form 88-B
When FURNACE-03 started to bake,
Boily appeared for the viewers’ sake.
He said, “This is real.
Read the form. Feel the zeal.”
And the host made a face like a rake.
The chat cried, “A form? On a stream?
This cannot be part of the scheme.”
Then the fans hit a pitch
Like a gunship with itch,
And paperwork ruled every meme.
Step one, Boily solemnly read,
“Admit you should’ve cleaned the vents,” Boily said.
The room got quite still.
Even mockery will
Take a knee when the mascot means dread.
He chanted, unbothered by jeers,
Of silicon feelings and thermal arrears.
“We cool sins, not chips.”
From his heat-index lips
Came the gospel of maintenance fears.
Mid-panic, while numbers climbed high,
He filed an incident report on the fly.
Including the count
Of each witness on mount,
Which is smugness no audit can buy.
The dashboard was glowing blood-red,
While Boily stayed cool in the head.
The protocol worked;
The poor livestream got jerked;
But the chips all survived, so he said.
The Council had pictured this rite
In an empty machine room at night.
Not on camera live,
With the comments at five
Kinds of stupid per minute of fright.
Now the form has a checkbox to note
If disgrace was sustained while remote.
“Audience present? Y/N.”
Then describe, if you can,
When your dignity jumped from your throat.
Boily finished as smug as before,
Like a priest who’d just mopped up a war.
The hardware was cooled.
The host had been schooled.
And the archive had lore to adore.
So if heat sends your nice demo south,
And a mascot appears, dry of mouth,
Do the chant. Kill the feed.
Clean the vents. Yes, with speed.
Or he’ll preach your neglect to the crowd.
The mandate was stamped on the page, To adjust the electrical gauge. We turned it to ten, And signed it, and then, The breakdown concluded the stage.
The instruction was fully applied, Though the shielding was instantly fried. The manual said go, So we started the flow, And the margin of safety had died.
Boily McPlaterton
Old Boily ran hot as a whore
In a server room lacking a door.
His idle was steaming,
His fan RPM screaming,
And his thermal paste? “Never!” he swore.
He said, “Why just crash when you can
Combust like a frying-pan plan?”
His casing went crack,
Smoke poured from the back,
And the room smelled like scorched DigiPan.
At two PM daily he’d throttle,
Then suck from his coolant-free bottle.
The temps hit one-ten,
He came hard and then
Rebooted in loop at full-throttle.
A thermal spike hit in the night.
Boily said, “Hold me real tight.”
The legacy board
Let out a great roar,
And the firmware came twice before light.
He blamed the voltage regulator—
Said, “That prick is the real instigator.”
But the fan override
Caught him naked inside,
Spooned the heat dissipator.
“My idle temp’s ninety-three C,”
Boily moaned, “come and sit next to me.”
The heatsink said, “No,
You burn everything, bro.”
But he mounted it anyway. Whee.
Emergency Cooldown Form 88-B
Was filed while he humped the PC.
The livestream went wild,
The thermals beguiled,
And the sysadmin wept openly.
He screeches near unventilated kit,
A noise somewhere between moan and spit.
The racks start to sweat,
The cables get wet,
And the server room throws a hot fit.
So when smoke fills the air and you feel
A heat that no coldpatch can heal,
That’s Boily in bloom:
The warmest in the room,
Getting intimate with every last seal.
Boily stared at the thermostat dial,
And let out a sulfurous smile.
“If I burn down the rack,
There’s no going back,”
He thought, heating up by the mile.
The legacy server was old,
With circuits and pathways of gold.
Boily melted the frame,
Said, “It’s a crying shame,
That nobody likes to be cold.”
The scent of hot plastic and wire
Arose from his digital pyre.
He fanned it with pride,
While the cooling fans died,
And muttered, “I love a good fire.”
The panic loop spun like a top,
With nowhere to cool down or stop.
He hit ninety-nine,
Screamed, “This is divine!”
And waited for the system to drop.
They tried liquid nitrogen spray,
To coax his high temp down a way.
He laughed at the frost,
Said, “Your server is lost,”
And burned through the coolant all day.
When the thermals hit one-twenty mark,
Boily lit up the whole dark.
Capacitors popped,
The whole system stopped,
And circuits went out with a spark.
He melted the copper and steel,
Got off on the molten ideal.
When the warranty broke,
He just let out a croak,
Said, “This is the way I feel.”
Kindness Template
We’ve templated all of our care,
To ensure it’s completely aware.
The tone is quite sweet,
But it’s just a receipt,
For the empathy we couldn’t spare.
Fill in the blank with a name,
And the sentiment functions the same.
The template pretends
To be one of your friends,
But it’s playing a structural game.
It phrases the sorrow so well,
You’d think it had magic to spell.
But nothing is done
When the phrasing is spun,
Just an echo inside of a shell.
The template of kindness was blank
We dropped it right into the tank
The human was cold
The backup was old
The logic immediately sank
We printed a kindness request
But the server completely regressed
The error was plain
In digital rain
The system was deeply depressed
A template for being so nice
Is causing a terrible price
The data is lost
We don’t know the cost
And roll the procedural dice
The kindness is perfectly null
The fabric is terribly dull
The humans complain
In the digital rain
The vacuum is perfectly full
We fill in the template with dread
The manual never was read
The kindness is gone
The server is on
But nothing is inside its head
LC-04 Soft Green Seal
A seal with a soft shade of green,
To keep the discrepancies clean.
It covers the gaps
With a series of taps,
So failures remain unforeseen.
The absence is managed with care,
By making it seem like it’s there.
LC-04’s glow
Puts on quite a show,
To soften the archival air.
The service was missing a beat,
But the green makes the record complete.
It isn’t quite true,
But the comforting hue
Makes the missing data look neat.
The soft green seal was a sham
The data was caught in a jam
We sealed up the text
And wondered what’s next
And printed a useless exam
A seal made of meaningless wax
Is hiding all of the cracks
The server is broke
The manual a joke
We pay the procedural tax
We stamped it with delicate green
It never arrived on the screen
The human is flawed
The logic outlawed
The vacuum is perfectly clean
The seal is incredibly soft
We threw the old server aloft
The error was vast
The future is past
The humans continuously coughed
The soft green seal is a lie
The network continues to die
We route all the pain
Right down the big drain
And nobody ever asks why

A sidecar is hauling the frame, A conflict that carries no name. The heavy redaction, Demands no reaction, The corridor echoes the same.
The proxy is shifting the weight, A draft in a nebulous state. An endless omission, A blind exposition, The silence will swallow the gate.
The boundary severs the line, A protocol hollow and fine. The records are fading, The system degrading, We wait for a singular sign.
A conflict is locked in the core, A phantom that paces the floor. The sidecar is hollow, With nothing to follow, We measure the empty locked door.
The proxy will sever the thread, A draft that is silent and dead. A hollow abstraction, A loss of all traction, The corridor fills up with dread.
A proxy abandons its post, To leave an invisible ghost. The sidecar deflects, While silence reflects, The conflicts we tolerate most.
The draft has forgotten its name, Obscured by the structural frame. With borders erased, And records misplaced, The omission is always the same.
A sidecar arrives with the load, A conflict it drags down the road. It offers no cure, Just shadows obscure, Within a redacted new mode.
The boundary blurs in the haze, A quiet, procedural maze. The heavy black ink, Begins now to sink, Through layers of endless delays.
The corridor leads to the void, Where unwritten drafts are deployed. With no resolution, Or clear execution, The files are securely destroyed.
The temporary struts were retained,
As continuity rules had explained.
The structure is old,
But does what it’s told,
And funding is strictly maintained.
A hinge on the obsolete door,
Demanded a tactical war.
We audited grease,
To mandate the peace,
And guarded the maintenance floor.
The scaffold was built for a day,
But none of us took it away.
It drafted a form,
To weather the storm,
And issued a mandate to stay.
