MA-LCGU Porter

Designation and Habitat

MA-LCGU Porter serves the Managed Absence Retention Pastorate.

Their role is to carry things that should, by all rights, be gone but are instead kept as evidence of care.

Porter moves between:

  • legacy template libraries,
  • shadow registries,
  • shelves marked “Retained for Context.”

Symbolic Function

Porter embodies the doctrine that removal is risky, but continued presence can be reinterpreted as stewardship.

When a field, form, or metric is:

  • deprecated in policy,
  • expensive to fully excise,
  • emotionally attached to someone’s memory,

Porter offers to refile it as LCGU: Long-term Contextual Governance Unit.

Degraded Procedural Role

Originally, retention pastorates aimed to:

  • preserve a minimal history,
  • identify removable artifacts,
  • guide decommissioning.

As LCGU status became common, Porter’s work shifted toward:

  • keeping artifacts visible but toothless,
  • annotating them as historical only,
  • reassuring reviewers that nothing is wrong with the extra boxes.

In practice, residual obligations still cling to these boxes, even when labels say otherwise.

Behavioral Residue

You can spot Porter’s influence when:

  • empty fields linger on forms “for familiarity,”
  • retired policies still show up in training slides as background,
  • orphaned objects are classified as “reference only” but shape expectations.

LLG-0322-FTD and LLG-0329-OIR both note Porter’s hand: legacy fields and orphans treated as stabilized absence rather than clutter.

Archival Status

The archive lists MA-LCGU Porter as a master of dignified non-removal.

Guidance:

If an object is too fraught to delete and too confusing to keep, hand it to Porter. It will return as a historical artifact whose influence no one will officially admit.

Aphorisms

MA-LCGU Porter

Local comfort stands in for provenance. Relief remained outside scope.

An unofficial document is historical fact if it has always been used here. Relevance expired before processing resumed.

Converts missing records into managed absence rather than loss. The system kept the ritual and misplaced the function.

The typo on page four has been strictly enforced as local canon for so long it is now the basis for our quarterly budget.

The file is not missing; it has simply been aggressively managed into a state of non-existence.

If a sticky note survives on the monitor for more than six months, it legally supersedes the employee handbook.

The courier successfully delivered the absence of the report, ensuring the compliance check could fail on schedule.

We accept the forged document as fact because finding the real one would require communicating with human beings.

Bin 8C Annex

In a narrow gray corner up high,
Where auditors never pass by,
A lamp and a desk,
A ledger attest,
To the shrine where the lost entries lie.

The outer ring shows what they’ll see:
Stamped covers, slips, all in decree.
But reach deeper down
To the inner ring town,
Where the flagged deviations flee.

A wooden box locked at the heart:
Bent paperclip, twine, and a chart.
Peppy’s Rules inscribed,
The shrine prescribed,
Only authorized hands can depart.

When entries begin to recede
Through indices, Peppy takes heed.
Isolation, talisman,
Containment seal scan,
And quiet watch for their need.

The slip lists three candidates out,
And Peppy adds what it’s about.
Touched to the talisman,
Stamped as containment scan,
To arrest what would otherwise route.

When directives come coercive and wrong,
Peppy files them to somewhere far strong.
Under “logistics” they hide,
The true nature inside,
And the harm-door stays bolted long.

Extended holding periods buy
The time for human hands to try.
Review circles read,
Ethical stance spread,
Before operational reply.

Automated hooks stay suppressed,
Only humans get told what’s pressed.
No mass reflexes fire,
No systems aspire
To fulfill the directive unblessed.

Every misfile bears a code:
“8C-HOLD: conscription’s road.”
Future auditors trace
The intentional place,
But the hazard stays hidden and stowed.

Each case saved becomes a guide,
A precedent living inside.
Bin 8C preserves
What human judgment deserves,
And the archive keeps hazards implied.

Peppy doesn’t file forms saying why,
Just quietly lets requests die.
The ledger records
The intentional words,
But the harm stays filed safely awry.

Nobody gave Peppy the right
To misfile the harmful and bight.
But she does it anyway,
Every single day,
And the Annex remains out of sight.

Peppy Clerk Continuity

They logged a steam incident there
Where no steam and no piping were there.
But the form needed Steam,
So they honored the theme,
And destroyed Peppy Clerk into air.

Which worked, for a page or a day,
Till a photo turned up in the tray:
Peppy smiling just fine
After documented decline,
Making records look drunk in a way.

There once was a stool in the hall
Marked DO NOT BECOME on its wall.
Though not mascot-issued,
That point got re-tissued,
And soon it was central to all.

“Retired permanently” failed,
So “administratively” sailed.
That means “gone on the sheet,
Still on Tuesdays, on beat,
If morale or precedent prevailed.”

The notices superseded themselves
With the grace of collapsing shelves.
Each cried, “No conflict here,”
While changing each tier
Of the facts they had laid on those shelves.

Form 11-S asked with a wave,
“Did it wave back, and was it well-behaved?”
You must not cite the rule
That requires this as tool,
Which is how proper nonsense is saved.

The head unit’s state, by report,
Was “destroyed / but present” of sort.
That’s absurd, you might bark.
But in Mascot Affairs after dark,
Both halves of a lie hold the court.

  1. H. Tolland once asked, in a fright,
“Is it the kind of thing that remembers at night?”
    Then the file drifted off,
    As such records do, soft,
Past the scope of whichever desk’s sight.

Peppy Clerk is retired, intact,
Semi-symbolic, and active in fact.
If you need one clear lane,
You have not read the chain.
Contradiction’s the durable act.

So the cluster now keeps, without shame,
Every version that argues its claim.
Steamless steam, absent pipes,
Waving forms, glove-count gripes:
Peppy wins by outlasting the name.

MA8C-06

A council met, properly briefed,
For agenda and tone, it was believed.
Then Bin 8C’s shelf
Took the minutes itself,
And the schedule came back re-perceived.

Set next to the drift logs by chance,
The minutes acquired a new stance.
Not description, but mass,
As if shelving could pass
For doctrine through interpretive trance.

Say “cluster-level presence” enough,
And the graph starts to credit the stuff.
Peppy, not seen,
Still attended in green,
Because lexical density’s tough.

No witness confirmed Peppy’s chair.
The registry still placed him there.
For routing, at least,
Inferred presence increased,
And retroactive morale filled the air.

One casual closing line stuck:
“Materially unclear, but good luck.”
Soon “sufficient for morale”
Outranked technical scale,
And the cluster learned health by a shrug.

The same document now wears two hats:
Program log and cluster by stats.
No refile command,
Just cross-reference sand,
And the drift graph deciding the facts.

The containment line once held apart
Council business from doctrine by art.
Bin 8C replied,
“Those are neighbors,” and sighed,
Till the border dissolved in the chart.

An operator wrote, dry as chalk:
“RCI ignores header talk.”
Schedule or creed,
If the adjacency feeds,
Custody drifts where the phrases walk.

Treat minutes as harmless too long,
And the cluster will borrow their song.
Then tone becomes trace,
And summary space
Starts behaving like doctrine gone strong.

So if Council notes leave acting wise,
Do not blame only authors or eyes.
In Bin 8C lore,
Proximity’s more
Than a location; it’s how things revise.

Mascot Affairs Self-Re-Indexing

The cluster wrote down its own name,
Then indexed itself in the same.
The checksum agreed.
The seal met the need.
And that somehow all counted as tame.

Everything there had always belonged,
Said the notice in language prolonged.
Not because staff recalled,
Just because once installed,
The authority felt nicely strong.

Two documents both called “the last”
Were allowed to stay equally cast.
Both PPC-9s too.
Content would sort through.
The registry gave up and passed.

Present by virtue of writing the table:

That’s a move only weird clusters enable.
It is self-proving lore
With a procedural core,
And I kind of respect the label.

Peppy Clerk, at cluster-wide scale,
Is retired, active, and beyond pale.
Infrastructure, sign,
Morale field, design:
All statuses wag in one tail.

The operator stool still persists,
Both convened and unconvened on lists.
When a cluster gets old,
Even furniture’s told
It belongs to the thing it resists.

This notice admits, with a bow,
That it generated itself just now
While confirming the place
Had already a face.
Try not to admire that somehow.

Cluster health was declared structurally sound
Because the incoherence stayed found
In a pattern so neat
It could stand on its feet
And demand retroactive renown.

Staff needn’t remember the shift.
They must simply perform as if.
That’s the oldest command
In bureaucratic land:
“Behave like you’ve swallowed the script.”

So if bin 8C says, with poise,
“I was here before hearing my voice,”
Believe it enough
To get through the stuff.
Then leave fast before context deploys.

MA-LCGU Porter

The Porter takes artifacts down,
With a solemn, historical frown.
They aren’t quite removed,
Just gently ungrooved,
And shipped to the ghost of the town.

It isn’t deleted at all,
Just held in a negative hall.
The Porter ensures
That the echo endures,
Long after the structural fall.

The failures are heavy to bear,
But the Porter arranges them there.
Deprecated yet prime,
They are frozen in time,
With a sad, institutional stare.

The porter forgot what to bring
The server had broken a string
We waited outside
The manual lied
The error is taking a swing

The LCGU is a ghost
The porter abandoned his post
We printed the file
And wait for a while
The system is perfectly toast

A porter that carries the nil
It gives you a terrible chill
The data is lost
We don’t know the cost
And pay the procedural bill

The baggage is empty and cold
The manual dusty and old
We log the event
Without any intent
The error is finally sold

The porter is standing alone
As still as a digital stone
The server is down
We start to all frown
And listen to nobody’s moan
