Audit Confetti

Audit Confetti has been reserved for celebrations that occur at the exact administrative moment an error becomes too complex to audit.

It was mandated by the Bureau of Evidentiary Metrics to trigger whenever a backlog of unresolved incident reports is forcibly closed. It functions not to destroy the records, but to blanket them in shredded, brightly colored denial.

Distinction: Unlike the Shredder Golem—which maliciously consumes valid records—Audit Confetti only distracts from records that were already functionally abandoned.

Cleanup remains a separate jurisdiction.

Aphorisms

Audit Confetti

The forms are signed. I explode in a burst of shredded spreadsheets. The mess will be tomorrow’s problem, but today, we are legally covered.

We did not fix the underlying vulnerability, but we did write a very thorough policy about it. Please enjoy this colorful distraction.

The auditors have left the building. Release the confetti before they check the basement servers.

A party thrown to celebrate passing inspection creates the exact debris that will fail the next one. I am the joyous cycle of failure.

Massive quantities of shredded spreadsheets from the closure party are currently raining down upon the basement servers. This decorative debris is clogging the exhaust fans, and the physical facility is rapidly melting.

They asked for the raw crashlog. I offered them colorful scraps of shredded spreadsheets. The festive distraction successfully delayed the realization that the core is entirely compromised.

Audit Confetti

They threw all the paper around,
When the final compliance was found.
The system is trash,
And we’re losing our cash,
But the confetti is covering the ground.

The audit was totally faked,
And the auditors clearly were baked.
But we popped some champagne,
In the pouring cold rain,
While the actual database quaked.

It sparkles and shines in the air,
To hide all the rot and despair.
The audit is done,
And it wasn’t much fun,
But the Confetti tells us to care.

We threw the old audit around
And watched it all fall to the ground
Confetti of rules
Made by digital fools
The server was barely unbound

An audit of colorful flakes
Is causing a bunch of mistakes
We party and dance
Without any pants
The system continuously breaks

We celebrate failure with cheer
And wait for the end of the year
The paper is torn
The human forlorn
The error is painfully near

Confetti was made out of logs
And eaten by digital dogs
The party is dead
The manual read
We’re lost in the procedural fogs

The audit is perfectly null
The party is terribly dull
We stamp it approved
The data removed
The vacuum is perfectly full
