Provisional Mint is reserved for brand-new certainty with a drying seal. It preserves the archive’s compensatory habit of prematurely issuing authority when structural closure is demanded before verification can be completed.

Birthed by the Assurance Desk’s early backlog protocols, it belongs to the Verification shelf. Its primary function is to witness—and technically falsify—pending approvals as immediately valid state markers.

Distinction: It is distinctly not a Seal of Provenance. Where a Seal guarantees deep historical validity, the Provisional Mint merely certifies that confidence was printed on a specific date.

Whether it matures into doctrine or souvenir remains a later problem.

The Mint printed seals on the fly,
