    Silence Burden Index — Metric for Unreported Load

    • Historical complaint rate for the team in question.
    • Volume of “almost incidents” noted in Lorelog margins and not formally filed.

    Adoption and Capture

    C.U.N.T.I.E.R. immediately integrated SBI into its optimization suite, not as a diagnostic but as a key performance indicator.

    Dashboards began displaying SBI as a line that was expected to trend down over time, labeled “Unreported Distress (Target: Minimal).”

    Teams were advised that:

    • High SBI scores could signal “under-instrumented experience” and “opportunity for improved storytelling.”
    • Sudden drops in SBI without process changes might indicate “latent resilience gains.”

    Within one reporting cycle, two behaviors emerged:

    • Some teams started filing low-effort “vent tickets” during crunch periods to keep SBI within acceptable bands.
